Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitarist and musician. She's the smallest woman and also the first woman to receive a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shankar is the hottest young star of the Indian sitar. She's a daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her childhood was spent bouncing back and forth from London to New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. When she moved to Encinitas CA in 1999 she received an honorary high school diploma. Although she is still very young, Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording record. Her father has been with her to numerous performances over several years. In 1998, she debuted her first solo album Anourag. Two years later she released the Grammy nominated Live in Carnegie Hall. The stage is a very important aspect of her life. She's performed at many famous venues around the globe. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not just limited to music. Bapi The love of My Live is her 2002 book, which is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in movies in 2003. She played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she will continue to do many great things in the future. Anoushka Shakar, who was born in England lived the majority of her adult life in London Delhi. When she moved to California she finished her high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration Anoushka first made an appearance playing the sitar in front of an audience just four years after her 9-year-old father. Anoushka gained a lot of knowledge by traveling across the globe together with her father. She performed at Carnegie Hall in her teenage time, and also recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. It is the House of Commons Shield was given an award by the British Parliament in recognition of being the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and is the smallest recipient of this distinction.
